With the score tied and two outs on the board, Albies connected with a fastball pitched by Shelby Miller (4-5), sending it soaring into the right field stands. This homer, measured at 407 feet, was Albies’ fifth of the season and broke his 0-for-15 slump.
Over the past four games, the Braves have showcased considerable power, with Albies’ homer being the 10th for the team. This victory marked Atlanta’s fourth win in their last five outings.

Daysbel Hernandez (1-0), who had just been called up from Triple-A Gwinnett, was credited with the victory. With closer Raisel Iglesias unavailable, Joe Jimenez stepped in to pitch a flawless ninth inning and secured his first save of the season.
The starting pitchers for both teams were commendable in their efforts, although neither earned a decision. Detroit’s Reese Olson pitched six scoreless innings, yielding four hits without any walks, while striking out eight. This performance was a notable bounce-back for Olson, who had struggled in his previous three starts.
On the Braves’ side, Max Fried pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks, striking out six. Fried’s outing ended after he had thrown 103 pitches.
The Tigers initially threatened in the fourth inning, loading the bases but failing to score. They eventually took the lead in the sixth inning when Riley Greene hit an RBI single, driving Andy Ibanez home.
Atlanta responded in the seventh inning against reliever Will Vest. Austin Riley doubled and advanced to third on a fly ball before scoring on a single by Forrest Wall, also recalled from Triple-A earlier that day.
In the eighth inning, the Tigers posed another threat with runners at first and second and one out. However, Hernandez quelled the danger by striking out Gio Urshela and Akil Baddoo to keep the score tied.
